How did this all start ? I've been sewing since I was a child. My father purchased a sewing machine to make a one time project, and then passed it on to me. My sister helped me get going, and then I couldn't take enough sewing classes in school. Sadly my father passed away in 2009, and I made my mother a bear from his clothing. I posted it on social media and the rest is history. I truly love my job. Helping to preserve the memory of a loved one or special memory is so fulfilling. Thank you for visiting.

My most requested item is a memory bear. I have different styles to choose from. In addition to bears, I have several styles of dogs to choose from since I often make dogs in memory of a beloved pet. I also make bunnies, elephants, moose, and monkeys.

I work from my home studio and don't publish my address on the web. I recently moved from Wrentham, Ma to New Hampshire. You can ship your clothing item to me and I will return ship your completed order.

I was featured on Chronicle when I lived in Massachusetts. Such a fun day with a lovely group. Youtube link below.

Memory bears and other plush items are not toys. They are made with safety eyes, and noses but not recommended for children.

How many items does it take to make a Memory Bear ?
Depending on the size of the item usually one piece of adult clothing works well for each bear. Newborn or children's clothing requires at least six pieces. One receiving blanket is enough for one to two bears.
Short on clothing items ? I can incorporate some of my own high quality minky fleece fabric that I make the bears face from.
•What type of clothing should I use ?
Nothing too thick, or thin. Sorry, but I don't work with fur. It requires a specific set of skills I have not mastered.
Shirts, pants, pj’s, t shirts, oxfords, denim, corduroy, fleece, sweatshirts, blankets etc. Large logos do not fit on the small pieces that make up the bear. Suit coats will be enough for one bear. Sweaters can also be used although loose knit sweaters do not work well due to large holes often found in such items. Really thin stretchy fabrics are not optimal because the hand stitched seams on the back of the bear show the stitching, and can shift due to the stretch of certain fabrics. Each Bear is made with over 20 pieces of fabric sewn together. You can bring as many items as you want and we can go over the items during the design consultation. If shipping you can make notes on the order form or I can work with the items you send. Please be sure items are free from odors, especially smoke. I have many other fabric items in my studio and smoke odors tend to linger. There is a charge of $20.00 to wash items that have a smoke odor. If you wash your items before I receive please avoid fabric softeners.
How long does it take for me to receive my bear ?
Usually no more than 6 weeks. This timeframe is subject to change. I moved from Wrentham to Newbury, NH if that is not convenient for you to bring the items to me, you can ship the items. I will ship the bears back to you when completed.
How much does a Memory Bear cost ?
My “standard size” bear cost $125.00 for most clothing items / fabric. Additional charges for intricate fabric/designs may apply. The price includes any lining fabric, high quality fiberfill, fleece for head and feet, and facial features.
